Ben Poole is an English blues-rock guitarist, singer and songwriter who began playing seriously at age nine, initially in heavy metal bands before moving into blues rock (Source: Wikipedia). His playing has drawn praise from two of Britain's most celebrated guitarists: Jeff Beck called him "fucking amazing," and Gary Moore said he was "really great" (Source: Wikipedia; Blues.gr). In 2010, Total Guitar magazine named him a "guitarist to watch out for," and in 2011 he was nominated in three categories at the British Blues Awards (Source: Wikipedia). In 2012 he was selected to represent the UK at the European Blues Challenge in Berlin, finishing third out of nineteen competing countries, and was voted Best Newcomer by Blues Matters! magazine the same year (Source: Wikipedia; Blues.gr). He self-released his debut album, "Let's Go Upstairs," in 2012, followed by "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" (2014), "Time Has Come" (2016, co-written with Wayne Proctor and Steve Wright) and "Anytime You Need Me" (2018), all on Manhaton Records (Source: Wikipedia). His 2018 single "Dirty Laundry," a cover of the Don Henley song, became a staple of his live sets (Source: benpooleband.com; YouTube). He has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, Canada and the US, playing festivals including Glastonbury and Download, and completed a 140-date, 19-country tour after 2019 (Source: Wikipedia). During the pandemic he released "Trio/// Live '19" (2019) and an acoustic duo album with Dutch bluesman Guy Smeets, "Acoustic Duo Live" (2021) (Source: Wikipedia). In 2026 he announced "Post-Midnight Behaviour," his first studio album of new material in eight years, released via Gypsy Soul Records on 25 September 2026 and preceded by the singles "No Second Chances" (July 2026) and "Empty" (July 2026), marking a more reflective direction blending blues rock with soul, country and alternative rock (Source: Guitar Interactive Magazine; Blues Matters Magazine).

Musical Influence

As the UK's representative at the 2012 European Blues Challenge and a guitarist singled out for praise by both Jeff Beck and Gary Moore, Poole has been one of the standard-bearers of the post-2010 generation of British blues-rock guitarists (Source: Wikipedia).
