Pre-war Delta and country blues from Ikast, Denmark, carried all the way to Brazil.

Big Creek Slim carries the sound of the pre-war Mississippi Delta from a small town in central Jutland all the way to the beaches of southern Brazil. He was born in 1984 and raised in Ikast, Denmark (Kilde: thecountryblues.com). Public sources — his label Straight Shooter Records and the artist profile on thecountryblues.com — record his given name as Marc Koldkjær Rune; a note this project received names him as Thomas Madsen, a detail we have not been able to independently verify against any published source, so both are recorded here rather than picking one. As a young man he saved money from construction work to travel to the American South, busking on street corners and playing bars in Clarksdale, Memphis and Baton Rouge before eventually settling in Florianopolis, Brazil, where he still lives with his wife, returning to Scandinavia for summer tours each year (Kilde: thecountryblues.com).
