The story of Cheap Tobacco began at a small music club in Kraków in 2010, when vocalist Natalia Kwiatkowska and guitarist Robert "Kapa" Kapkowski met and played Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing" together — the start of a band that has since combined rock, alternative blues and vintage influences with a powerful, precise sound (Source: cheaptobacco.pl). Kwiatkowska, who grew up in the Bieszczady Mountains and trained at Kraków Jazz Music School, has been voted Poland's best female blues vocalist by readers of Twój Blues magazine a full four times: 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 (Source: pl.wikipedia.org). Today's lineup is Kwiatkowska (vocals), Kapkowski (guitar), Michał Bigulak (bass) and Maciej Kudła (drums) (Source: pl.wikipedia.org). The discography includes an EP (2013), "Promises of Tomorrow" (2015), "Szum" (2018, released by Polskie Radio S.A.) and "Zobaczmy siebie" (2022, also Polskie Radio S.A.), with a new album, "Wschody i zachody," announced in 2025–2026 through the singles "Ot tak" and "SERCE" (Source: pl.wikipedia.org; cheaptobacco.pl). The band was nominated for the Fryderyk Award in the blues/country category in 2019, and Kwiatkowska was named "Nadzieją Roku" (Hope of the Year) by Teraz Rock magazine the same year (Source: pl.wikipedia.org). Cheap Tobacco has won over 15 Grand Prix and audience awards at festivals including Rawa Blues, Blues Alive and Bochum Total, and has played more than 500 concerts in Poland and internationally, including the Sziget Festival in Hungary, Canadian Music Week in Toronto and Pol'and'Rock Festival (Source: cheaptobacco.pl).

Musical Influence

With four Twój Blues titles as Poland's best female blues vocalist and over 500 concerts at home and abroad, Natalia Kwiatkowska and Cheap Tobacco have shown a younger generation of Polish blues artists how to combine blues roots with a modern, internationally touring outlook (Source: pl.wikipedia.org; cheaptobacco.pl). The Blues Top polls have repeatedly recognized the band's continued relevance in the Polish blues scene.
