Laurence Jones (born 13 February 1992 in Liverpool, England) is an English blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter (Source: Wikipedia). He moved with his family to Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire, at age eight, began classical guitar at seven, and was drawn to the blues through his father's record collection, particularly The Groundhogs' 1971 album "Split" (Source: Wikipedia). By his mid-teens he was fronting his own cover band, Free Beer, and at seventeen formed his own blues trio (Source: Wikipedia). He released his debut album, "Thunder in the Sky," in 2012 on Promise Records, the same year he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease (Source: Wikipedia). In 2014 he signed to Ruf Records and released "Temptation," recorded at Dockside Studio in Lafayette, Louisiana, followed by the live album "Blues Caravan 2014" (Source: Wikipedia; Discogs). Further Ruf Records albums followed: "What's It Gonna Be" (2015) and "Take Me High" (2016), the latter produced by Mike Vernon (Source: Wikipedia). He won the British Blues Awards' "Young Artist of the Year" for three consecutive years (2014-2016) and was inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame as a result, also winning Guitarist of the Year in 2016 and the European Blues Awards' Best Guitarist in 2015 (Source: Wikipedia). Later albums moved to Top Stop Music ("The Truth," 2017; the self-titled "Laurence Jones Band," 2019) and Marshall Records ("Destination Unknown," 2022; "Bad Luck & the Blues," 2023) (Source: Wikipedia). He has toured extensively with Vintage Trouble and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and opened for Ringo Starr, Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Walter Trout and Status Quo; blues legend Buddy Guy has described him as "a young Eric Clapton" (Source: Wikipedia; RAMzine). On 23 January 2026 he released his first solo acoustic album, "On My Own," co-produced with Wayne Proctor, made during what he has described as the most difficult year of his life battling Crohn's disease, stripping his sound back to just voice and acoustic guitar in tribute to Robert Johnson and Lightnin' Hopkins (Source: Blues Rock Review; Moshville Times; laurencejonesmusic.com).

A three-time British Blues Awards Young Artist of the Year and Hall of Fame inductee praised by Buddy Guy as "a young Eric Clapton," Jones has been one of the most decorated names of his generation in UK blues-rock, opening for artists from Van Morrison to Status Quo (Source: Wikipedia).
