Linda Valori (born 3 September 1978 in San Benedetto del Tronto, Marche, to an Italian father and a Romanian mother) is one of Italy's foremost soul-blues vocalists, active as a professional singer since 1995 (Source: Wikipedia). She has said of her genre choice: "It wasn't I who chose to sing blues; blues chose me" (Source: AZ Blues). In 2004 she placed third at the Sanremo Music Festival with the self-penned "Aria, sole, terra e mare," and in 2005 she won a trophy at Romania's Cerbul de Aur (Golden Stag) festival (Source: Wikipedia). She has released three studio albums: "La forma delle nuvole" (2005) and "Tutti quelli" (2010) in Italian, followed by her first English-language record, "Days Like This" (January 2013), produced by Grammy-nominated blues producer Larry Skoller and recorded with American session musicians Keith Henderson (guitar), Tim Gant (keyboards), Bill Dickens (bass) and Khari Parker (drums) — players who have worked with Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Beyoncé (Source: AZ Blues; Wikipedia). She held a US CD-release show at Rosa's Lounge, Chicago's long-running blues club (Source: Rosa's Lounge event listing). Beginning in 2014 she formed an ongoing partnership with Italian blues guitarist Maurizio Pugno, touring together as "Linda Valori & Maurizio Pugno Band" at festivals across Italy and abroad, including the More Blues Festival in Zottegem, Belgium, and the Tropea Blues Festival (Source: YouTube; Friday Night Blues; Bitonto Blues Festival). Valori has performed at numerous Italian blues festivals, among them Narcao Blues, Blues Made in Italy (Cerea), San Severino Blues Festival and Bitonto Blues Festival, and on Italian television including RAI's "Tutte donne tranne me," hosted by Massimo Ranieri (Source: Wikipedia). She has performed seven times before three different Popes — John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis (Source: Wikipedia).
