Marco Pandolfi is one of Italy's most respected blues harmonica players, with a distinctive presence on the Italian blues scene for over thirty years (Source: official site). He is the only Italian blues musician known to have competed twice at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee — in 2006 with his band Marco Pandolfi & the Jacknives, and again in 2011 in the solo/duo category (Source: official site; Blues.gr). He won the Italian national final of the European Blues Challenge in 2013 and went on to represent Italy at the European Blues Challenge in Riga, Latvia, in 2014; in 2016 he was invited as a guest of honour at the European Blues Challenge Grand Gala (Source: official site). In 2008 he was selected as the only European musician invited to the Delta Groove All-Star Blues Revue at Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi (Source: official site). He has recorded and performed with American blues figures including Richard Ray Farrell, Paul Oscher, Bob Margolin, Harvey Brooks, Preston Hubbard, Bob Corritore and Willie King, and has played venues and festivals across Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany and the United States, including the Chicago Blues Festival, The Rhythm Room in Phoenix and BB's Jazz, Blues & Soups in St. Louis (Source: official site; Blues.gr). His 2007 album "Stuck on the Blues," a largely acoustic collaboration with Richard Ray Farrell, and his 2019 album "Ambrotype" — recorded in Trieste and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London — mark two high points of a discography that now runs to thirteen albums under his own name, most recently "Rain or Shine" (April 2026, EPOPS Music) (Source: official site; Bandcamp). His artistic trajectory has moved from straight blues harmonica toward introspective, folk-inflected songwriting while still playing guitar and harmonica simultaneously in performance (Source: official site).

Musical Influence

The only Italian blues musician to have twice competed at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Pandolfi has carried Italian blues harmonica playing onto major American and European stages for three decades, from Ground Zero in Clarksdale to the Chicago Blues Festival (Source: official site).
