Oz & The Wizards is a blues band from Kristiansand in Norway's Sørlandet region, built around experienced musicians from the local scene (Source: Sandnes Bluesklubb; Bluesnews.no). The band has been a fixture of the regional blues circuit for several years and was among the seven acts that played the opening concert of Christianssand Blues & Roots Club at Håndverkeren on 26 January 2019 (Source: Bluesnews.no, "Pangåpning av ny klubb i Kristiansand"). Every song is written by bandleader Osmund "Oz" Grytdahl, who sings and plays guitar — including slide guitar — in an unmistakable style rooted in Delta and Chicago blues, filtered through his own musical instincts (Source: the band's own presentation; Sandnes Bluesklubb). In the current line-up, Ole Louis Lilløy plays bass and double bass, while Oddvar Michaelsen holds down the drums (Source: concert listing, Teateret Kristiansand, 7 March 2026). Older listings also credit Niklas Dimitri Halseide as a second guitarist alongside Grytdahl (Source: Sandnes Bluesklubb, earlier programme listing) — he is no longer part of today's line-up, which now performs as a tight trio. The band describes its own sound as honest and unpolished, free of autotune or other studio tricks — blues the way it came from the heart before technology took over.
