Robbert Duijf is a singer-songwriter and blues musician from Limburg who built his career as a solo acoustic blues-gospel act before evolving into the current trio format (Source: robbertduijf.com; dutchbluesfoundation.nl). His music is rooted in traditional blues but given, in the Dutch Blues Foundation's words, "its own, contemporary interpretation." The band today consists of Robbert Duijf on vocals and guitar, his eldest son Rubin Duijf on double bass, and Sjaak Korsten -- formerly of The Ragtime Rumours -- on drums (Source: robbertduijf.com). The act has an unusually decorated competitive record: Duijf won the Dutch Blues Challenge in the solo/duo category in 2019, reached the semifinals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee that same year, then won the Dutch Blues Challenge again in 2023 in the bands category with the album "Change Myself" (which also won Best Dutch Blues Album 2023). The band went on to win the European Blues Challenge in Braga, Portugal in the bands category in 2024. Its most recent album, "Silver Spoon" (2025), won the Dutch Blues Album Award 2025 and was selected as the Netherlands' official entry for the International Blues Challenge's Best Self-Produced CD competition in Memphis (Source: dutchbluesfoundation.nl). The band's catalogue also includes the live album "Tired of Being Good" (2024), "Dangerous Mood" (2021, vinyl) and the earlier live release "Going Home" (2019), alongside a run of singles.

Musical Influence

Robbert Duijf represents one of the most competitively successful acts to emerge from the Dutch Blues Foundation's development pipeline, translating consecutive Dutch and European Blues Challenge wins into growing international recognition (Source: dutchbluesfoundation.nl).
