The SuperSoul Brothers formed in 2016 in Pau, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, driven by founder-singer David Noël's childhood dream of playing authentic deep soul (Source: ambassadeursdubearn.com; thesupersoulbrothers.com). Ten years after their first rehearsal in a cold rehearsal room in Mourenx, the seven musicians — David Noël (vocals), Pierre-Antoine Dumora (guitar), Ludovic Timoteo (bass), Fabrice Seny-Couty (drums), Julien Stantau (keys), Julien Suhubiette (slide trombone) and Claire Rousselot-Paillez (backing vocals) — became France's official representatives at the European Blues Challenge 2026 in Katowice, Poland (Source: ambassadeursdubearn.com). Drawing on Ray Charles, James Brown, Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett alongside the Rolling Stones, Tom Jones and Joe Cocker, the band signed to the label Dixiefrog in September 2021 and released the studio album "Shadows And Lights," followed by the live album "The Road to Sound Live" and a third album, "By The Way" (Source: ambassadeursdubearn.com). They won first prize at the 9th Challenge Blues Français and were nominated to represent France at the 39th International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January 2024.

Musical Influence

As France's chosen representatives at the European Blues Challenge 2026, The SuperSoul Brothers carry a genuinely classic deep-soul and R&B lineage — Ray Charles, James Brown, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett — into contemporary French blues festival programming (Source: ambassadeursdubearn.com).
